It all started very well and continues to this day. We have got an OHIP and SIN number. We will also open a bank account tomorrow. The weather was beautiful today and we took a walk to a huge park just a few meters from Scott and Wendy's house. In general, we are very happy to have this opportunity, thank you again.

I want to express my gratitude to this wonderful country, and to all the indifferent people who greet, help, and spend their time to help Ukrainians in this difficult time for us, when a brutal war is ongoing in our homeland!
The world is not without good people, and there are many of us! I especially want to thank Nina and Ilya and the whole team for their support in everything. This extraordinary team helped me in a difficult situation, to find housing, to equip it with everything necessary. I am very grateful to them for this!

Our host is an incredible person! He didn't just give us his house for 2.5 months. He bought us 5x tickets from Toronto to Kingston! Arranged to meet us with two cars to pick up our family and all our suitcases. At the train station, we were met by our David's parents with sandwiches and toys. Everything in the house was ready for our arrival - toys for children, food in the fridge and wine 🤣 the people around us here are absolutely incredible! We have got help from many people - now our new friends And David's friends. They help us with purchases and trips to various authorities. They support us in every possible way - they help us with acquaintances so that we can expand our social circle. I know I can call someone anytime and ask for help. We are looking forward to seeing our David return to tell him personally how grateful we are to him for such help.

Nina! Thank you very much and those who took part in organizing this event! There is one word that accurately describes the experience: delight! We are tired, but there are a lot of good emotions! Thanks again!
For notorious reasons, I, like many of our compatriots, had to leave my home in Ukraine. When you find yourself in an unfamiliar country with its own rules, habits and principles of the system, it is unclear not only whom to ask, but also what to ask. But from the very first step, when you are not afraid to ask for help, Canada responds sensitively. Specifically, the PEOPLE in this country, as a chain, help you, even when you do not expect it! So I reached out to the volunteer group UkraineToToronto, or more precisely they did to me, it's hard to say now :). I asked in one group about one matter, and they responded to me in private about a different one. Sometimes these things look like a miracle! Nina helped us find a person to transport things to a rented apartment. Thank you Nina, you are a very big help 🙏🙏🙏!!! And Ilya (a Man with a capital letter!) not only transported our things twice in his car, but also helped to carry all our items.
And this was instead of an evening rest with the family after a working day. Ilya, thank you very much! I really sometimes do not have enough words of gratitude for all people like you, who are with us with all my heart now, because such things cannot be done without a soul!

Good day. Today is 10 days since I arrived in Canada with my children. I don’t know how to express my gratitude to you for your help with accommodation in this wonderful host family!💝💝💝
We are very lucky to get acquainted with a wonderful woman Shirley. She helps with everything. The children are equipped for school and I have almost all the documents processed. My eldest son even visited the boxing sports club yesterday (he is an athlete, champion of Ukraine in junior boxing). Here at school, as soon as they found out, they took it up close, which he was very happy about. He had been involved in sports since he was 8 years old and that was his life, but because of war he lost opportunities to play sports ... He thought that was all. And here is the future and prospects!
The youngest son gets up without problems at 6:40 in the morning to go to school, with JOY! He became much calmer (and this was only in a week). Because of the sounds of constant sirens and bomb shelters, he was jittery and afraid of any noisy sounds. He also had a lack of communication with other children, which he is now gladly making up for.
Shirley is a very good and kind woman! We feel her like a kin!💖
